Take a look at these proverbs. What is their message? How far do you agree with what they say? Write your answers in your notebook and compare them with your partner’s.


Choose the word that in your opinion best completes the following proverbs.

Health is not valued till sickness comes
We take health for granted and we do not worry much about it if we feel fine. We only become aware of its importance when we are ill.
Prevention is better than cure .
It is better to look after your health when you are well than to get cured of a disease.
You are what you eat .
You need to eat good food to be fit and healthy. If you consume harmful food, you may face serious health problems in the future.
The less you eat, the longer you live .
Don’t eat an abundance of food throughout the day. Eat only as much as your body actually needs. In many cases, overweight people develop various health problems and consequently die younger than those who keep fit.
