REVISION

People-watching is a harmless way of learning how people live and behave. The observer can try guessing the life story of the observed or their everyday routines but in no way are they allowed to judge them. There are several reasons for people-watching: it's enjoyable and relaxing, it's a way of passing time while you're waiting in a public place, it is informative if you're developing a literary character and it is a great alternative to Facebook stalking!

FIVE TIPS FOR PEOPLE-WATCHING
Act as you usually do and try to stay unnoticed. If you break this rule, you'll become the observed person.
There are numerous places where you can people-watch: in a cafe, on a bench in a park, in a bus station, in a waiting room, etc.
Be unobtrusive, don't be conspicuous. Read something, eat a meal, and wear sunglasses (but only in sunny weather).
Choose someone who caught your attention and think of what kind of person he or she is. Look at the clothes, the behavior, the body language.
If you get caught, simply smile and look away. But, if it is uncomfortable, simply walk away.

Look at the text under REVISION, name the tense of the two verbs in bold print there and explain its use.

Try people-watching yourself. You can do it in the school hall or in the street. Make some notes about it in your notebook and share your experience with your classmates.
