REVISION

Language learning involves making mistakes. Don't feel discouraged by the mistakes you make because this is part of the learning process. Two famous people said: "Of course I make mistakes. I'm human. If I didn't make mistakes, I'd never learn. You can only go forward by making mistakes." (Alexander McQueen, a British fashion designer). "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." (Albert Einstein, a physicist).

Now, you're going to take the role of a teacher. Listen to your students and correct their mistakes. If necessary, make notes in your notebook.

MAKING MISTAKES IN LANGUAGE LEARNING

School systems around the world compel teachers to evaluate their students. A foreign language is one of the school subjects where we have all been graded on our language skills. It's true teachers are not so strict anymore but they still deal with their students’ mistakes in a more or less corrective way. Foreign languages are seen as subjects where students are constantly judged and corrected rather than a useful tool to bridge a communication gap between people of different nationalities and to better understand the world in which we live. This can have a negative impact on their accomplishments and willingness to build on their language skills.
As a consequence, students are afraid of speaking or they limit their speaking to a small and limited set of words and phrases. Thus, they don't learn from their mistakes and get discouraged to speak at all.
